This work is part of a fruit series inspired by the fruit stands of Chinatown, NYC. Oranges are a symbol of good luck in Filipino culture. I grew up with a bowl of mandarin oranges always on our dining room table. I paired the oranges with augmented-reality butterflies, symbols of hope and rebirth.
